If you have been following me on social media, (and if not, Why Not?!#?) you know that I am all about planning and goal setting. I discovered year-end resolutions a few years age and that really sparked something inside of me.
I have typically not been a goal setter in the traditional sense. Yes, I have goals and visions for my life, my marriage, and my family. Yet, I never really sat down to write down the goals I wanted to achieve or give myself a timeline to accomplish them until last year. Setting goals are so important and we are going to do it together.
The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty.
Proverbs 21:5 (ESV)
Apart of this planning is setting goals for ourselves. Goals we set so we can plan and then work hard towards them. These goals should line up with the visions we have for ourselves, marriages, and families.
Those visions should be reflected on our vision boards and family vision boards. Setting ourselves up to have not just an awesome year, but also one that can be life-changing. So let’s take this simple and cute printable, and then go to work setting goals!
(Before you download, please remember that these printables are free and for your personal use only. They cannot be sold, distributed, or marketed for monetary gain in any way. Thanks for your cooperation!)
Taking this printable we’ll look at the different areas of our lives and set goals for each of them for the next year. We can accomplish both big and small goals; the sky is the limit! Yet, not forgetting to allow God to lead us as well. Praying that God reveals some of the things that He may have for you in the next year. We can write them down on this ‘Goals for 2021′ printable.
By writing down our goals we can hold ourselves accountable and keep them within reach so we do not lose sight of them.
Over the last few years that I have been using this goal setting printable, I have worked towards and seen so many amazing things happen in my life and the lives of my family. When I have committed to setting goals not just for myself, but also for my marriage and family it has helped to make sure I do not get lost in the shuffle.
As wives and moms, it is so easy to get so caught up with helping and supporting our husbands and kids achieve their goals that we lose sight our ours. This goal setting printable is a great way to keep all your goals in mind while striving to thrive both individually and as a family.
You could also take it one step further and share them with your husband. That way you have someone else holding you accountable and also have someone there supporting you along the way. Allow your husband to be your biggest cheerleader.
Then we put in the work necessary to achieve them with our actions and our prayers. Making this year the best year yet. Are you with me?
I’d love to hear about some of your goals for 2021 in the comments!

Thank you for updating this every year! I used this goal sheet last year and have printed out a new one for this year. I like that it’s in the very categories that I set goals in and it’s simple. I feel successful when I use this page!

I’m so glad you love it as much as I do, Tricia. I just fished updating mine yesterday. I have one copy in my planner and one hanging above my desk.
I am the same! Thank you for keeping this; our family has done this for three years!
That is awesome, Vivian!
I love your goal sheets (and all your printables for that matter!)! Thank you for sharing!!
Love how you have ‘prettied up’ the goal making process! It’s more fun to do it in a printable like this than just writing out a plain old list on plain old paper.
Writing down my goals on paper instead of typing them out always helps me! It’s like physically writing them makes me acknowledge them more. I love that this printable lays out all of the most important goals to focus on. 🙂 Happy 2018!
I totally agree, Katerine. As much as I love all things digital, sometimes paper and pen is just better.
I really like this idea…breaking out the types of goals into more specific areas makes them seem more attainable than the vague goals I usually write down.
I so believe in the power of goal setting ! I loved your printable. Co incidently, we just published an article on teaching kids goal setting on our platform as well. Do check it out if you have a chance. Thank you.
I love this! I’m a huge type-A, write everything down personality. This is such a great resource for setting and realizing our goals 🙂
I really appreciate the reminder to consult God about my goal setting first. It is so easy to go gung ho in goal setting. When I do speak with HIM about my goals for the year I am reminded of just a few and the rest can go. My flesh wants to go go go go but God tells me to slow down and FOCUS on the top ones. Thanks for the reminder.
God definitely has a way of making us refocus and slow down at times, Sarah. 💕
Love this, I am a big believer in goal setting!
Thant’s awesome, Emily, and thanks! 💕
Yes! I’ve really gotten into goal setting this year. I’ve been doing a monthly blog post putting it out there and I think that’s part of my motivation to get the goals done. I love this printable, thanks for sharing!
Hi! I love your blog & planning printable! I wrote & am leading a bible study on Refocusing for the New Year. I will share this with them!!!
I love how you have the goals broken down into different areas of life. It is a good way to lead people into being intentional about all areas. The New Year is a favorite time for me. I love the clean slate, setting goals, and starting fresh.
Thanks for the printable! I do think setting goals is a good idea – you have to start small sometimes too.
I totally agree! We only have to take one step at a time.
I love this! What a super cute way to start getting on track!
Thanks so much, Renee. 💕
What are your goals for 2018? For me, I’m setting two kinds of goals – behaviors I’d like to change, and goals I’d like to work toward. In the “behaviors” category, I’m going to try to leave room for my mind to wander by not filling every minute of silence with podcasts and TV shows – hopefully helping me to be more creative in the process! For goals, I’m going to try to write a book this year!
I’ll be doing some serious goal setting and planning in the next few days, so this is perfect timing!
My new year lies before me. I pray that goals that I have are ones that God has designed for me to achieve. I see many directions I could go – so it’s waiting to see how things work. I’ve always been a bit of a Type A person – but found a Type B commitment leaves me open to be a little less controlled about “getting things done” I have posts on organizing because “that’s my thing too” – but was good to read through your perspective too. Thank You!
Hey Ayanna!
Thank you for the printable, 2018 Goal Setting! I do well with organized material like the one you created.
I have Big goals for this coming year! I am excited to jot it all down and then create a vision board as well!!
That’s awesome, Elizabeth. I’m so glad this will help you work towards your big goals for 2018 and vision boards are the best.
I love this idea! I have a ton of goals but they always seemed to get lost in the daily grind. I like the idea of writing them down and posting them where I can see them daily and make them my main focus.
I love setting goals. This truly makes me push to achieve them.
this is an awesome printable! thanks for helping me stay organized!
OMG! I totally LOVE this printable!! Using this for my NY goals!
Awesome, Rachel!! I have been working on my for the last week or so.💕
I definitely struggle with goal setting. I find it overwhelming big time. I love your printable. I am very visual so it helps break things done for me to not get overwhelmed. Thank you for sharing. Happy holidays Ayanna. xo
You are definitely not alone, Annette. Setting goals was overwhelming to me too before I realized if I broke it down into “buckets”, I could do it. I hope this helps you to start 2018 off on the right foot. 💕
I feel like I need this for fall… like a new start! You should re-promote this post! I tweeted it for ya.
Me too, Harmony! THanks for the love and the idea. I’m on it! ?
Ayanna, Thanks so much for a great printable. I am a life coach and I shared the link to your printable on a post that I did about making goals as a family. http://www.rklifecoach.com/how-do-you-plan-family-goals/
My daughter just started a Youtube channel of her own. I can’t wait to print this goal sheet out for her.
Working on the writing down. Started last month and it did make a difference with keeping me in track! Still need to organize my notes down though lol
That’s great, Kei Marie, that you have already started writing down your goals and seeing some success with doing this. Now, just take this cute printable 😉 and let it help you organize your thoughts and get all your goals written in one place. You can do this!
What a great idea! I love this and you have printables to so I can visualize my goals.
Thanks, LaShonda! I am also a visual person, so if I can’t see it I won’t do it. So having our goals written down, on this cute printable ;-), will help us not just see them, but give us reminders that we need to keep working towards them. We can do this and make 2017 our best year yet!
My big goal is to be picked up as a brand ambassador for products geared towards couples. I use a planner which makes staying on task so much more feasible.
That’s an awesome goal, Tanya. And I totally agree with you on using your planner to keep us on task. Without my planner these days I would be so lost. Good luck on achieving your goals for 2107 and I look forward to seeing what God has in store for you.
Great Goal setting post, and to put it in perspective with prayer is the best way to get anything completed!
Thanks, Sue! I truly believe that prayer is not optional in all aspects of our lives, especially in setting goals and making plans.
I love Proverbs 25:5
Setting goals is sometimes hard for me because I tend to think in grand terms. I need to focus on breaking things down into smaller more manageable chunks.
This is awesome! I think goal setting is so important. And a printable is a good idea.
I love the layout of this. I’m going to take it lol. I set goals in the beginning of the year, and readjust on my birthday.
I need to get down worth the printable life! This seems so helpful!
I am working on balancing being a work at home mom! Not easy but setting measurable goals! I love the different categories! Cheers to a great 2017!
What a helpful printable for laying out your goals in a decorative way that you can display. My top goal is losing 50 lbs by October.
Love this! I’m continuously setting goals throughout the year and spent new year’s eve/day at home creating my vision board for 2017.
I’ve made my goals by quarter, but the first quarter involves starting a fund to build up savings to leave my job and I also want to start saving for a conference I’m going to in October
Really helpful tips and I love the printable. Thanks.
I believe in writing my goals down. I’m finalizing them now. I need to make sure I have all of the categories you listed.
I hope that you have a great New Year!
I have just started to plan my life out more and set goals, I’m definitely going to use this print out! Thanks!
Love the printable to set goals!
I like the printable you created for 2017. I love how it really covers many aspects of our life and how it touches a bit of everything. It will definitely make me focus and stay organized with what I’d like to accomplish next year.
We are totally on the same page! It is goal setting time of year. Eggnog, Goal Setting and Desserts. Three of my favs! lol
I love your goals layout! I am definitely thinking of my 2017 goals!
You know I’ve really been working on this and want to stay consistent in the new year. Not to put pressure on my self to reach said goals, but for accountability and because I really want to achieve what God has in store for me! This is a great post!
This is great! One of my biggest goals is purging! LOL Getting rid of more stuff and having more space in my home as well as only buying what is necessary!
I have to admit that l’m not a big “ahead” kind of planner. Seat of my pants so to speak, but this printable looks so good, l just might give it a try… My goals are travel related. Africa and Eastern Europe are on the list.
Thank you!! I need this. I am a hot mess
Ah I love your printables!! Totally using this today. It feels good to sit down and write everything out. I’m guilty of setting goals without noting them and not holding myself accountable, so this is perfect ❤
Sometimes it’s easier to write down goals. I always depend on my phone, and I use my phone in writing down notes and other stuff. But for things such as goals or plans, I like it better when I write it on my notebook.
Love this! I’ve been looking for a great guide for narrowing down my goals this year! Thanks!
I am currently in the process of setting goals…mostly for my blog. It’s the first year I’m doing it (trying to be more strategic) and I’m really excited about the possibilities. Great printout. Good luck with your goals.
Very helpful thank you! Looking forward to printing and using these!
Awesome printable! I love the idea of having goals for all areas of your life! I’m huge on goals, but I feel like mine are usually so scattered compared to this. 🙂
Yah!! Just listened to Dave Ramsey yesterday and he gave similar tips! I wrote them down to reflect on later, but I’m digging your printable!!
I love this so much! I am such a planner and have such a type A personality. So this makes me so happy!
It is so important to set goals to keep us focused and on track throughout the year. Great that you are offering a free printable too!
I’ve always wanted to try a vision board but they seem a bit overwhelming. This sheet would hold just the right amount! Great resource – I’ll have to try this out!
I love writing down my goals. This printable looks like a great way to stay organized.
Love this! This is currently what I am working on (well that and decluttering trying to get ready for the New Year)!
