If you are anything like me you love to plan, set goals, and do not mind putting in the work to make them happen. So many of us set big goals in 2020. There was a sense of having 20/20 vision in our lives and goals we wanted to achieve. Then so much in the world around us took a turn we never anticipated. Now you may be thinking, is setting goals for 2021 even needed?
I know this because I asked myself the same question. With so much uncertainty and nothing seeming “normal”, I wondered if having goals for the new year would even matter. After a lot of thought and prayer I realized that setting goals for 2021 is more important than ever before for three very important reasons.
1) So Much Has Changed
We all have heard the saying that one of the only things in life that is guaranteed is change. Nothing ever stays the same and if change had a year it would be 2020. Everything that was once normal is no longer exactly the same. Whether that is how we work, how our kids go to school, and even how we attend church.
Yet, with all the change around us, there is still so much ahead of us. There is growth we yet to experience, places we have yet to go, and things we have yet to achieve. While all these changes may seem overwhelming at times, the change also gives us a great opportunity to set a new path and set new goals.
Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I now declare
Isaiah 42:9 (AMPC)
The new goals you set for 2021 can help to guide you towards the new things God is doing in your life and has in store for the new year.
2) Setting Goals For 2021 Will Help Your Focus
With all the change that has happened around us, there has also been things that may have changed within us. Making it so important that we take the time to look at where and who we are now. While also looking to where and who we want to be.
I call it going BEYOND. Going from where you are to where you dream of and where God created you to go. Taking your life, faith, marriage, and family beyond often starts with you first making that a goal. Focusing on what could be and where you want to go, your perspective changes and that often helps to change everything.
To help you take that first step in taking your life, faith, marriage, and family beyond, I created this goal sheet with you in mind.

3) Setting Goals Gives You Permission To Change & Make Changes
While setting goals helps you to shift your focus and perspective, it also helps to give you permission to make the changes you need. So many times as women we want to be, go, and do more, but we often feel stuck or afraid to take that next step.
After setting goals for the new year, taking time to see the things that may be holding you back from making the changes you want and make the shift in your life you desire is a must. You may find there are somethings that you have to let go of as you go into 2021. Whether that is negative mindsets, negative self-talk, or even some relationships.
While also helping you to see what things or people you may need in your circle to help you successfully achieve your goals. Getting the help you need maybe one of the best things you can do for yourself. There are so many great resources around you and I am happy to be one of the people in your circle. If you want to take both your goals and your life to the next level, take them BEYOND, I’m the coach for you. So check out this opportunity for us to work together.
Despite all the changes and rollercoaster of a ride 2020 has been, there is so much to look forward to in 2021. So as you look forward to 2021, start with this goal sheet. Remembering that setting goals for 2021 are a must for you to be, go, and do all God is calling you to and become the Beyond You.
I’d love to know one goal you are setting for 2021 in the comments!
