Do you ever feel like reading the Bible is just not enough? Or that you have been reading the Bible and still looking for more ways to grow your faith? Well, you are not alone and there are some great Christian books out there to help.
Now, before I go on let me be clear. The best book to grow your faith and the greatest love story of all time is found in the Bible. From Genesis to Revelation, God reveals Himself, things about ourselves, and how to come to saving faith and grow our faith. Although the Bible was written thousands of years ago, it still speaks to us. God still speaks to us now.
However, just because the Bible is complete and without error it does not mean that God is done using words to speak to us. God still speaks to us. There are many people that take what God has spoken to them and share it with others. They share it through blog posts, articles, and even social media posts.
Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.

So I wanted to share with you 4 of the best Christian books that I have read. They have helped to grow my faith and I can help you as well.

1) Fervent by Priscilla Shirer
This book is currently my absolute favorite Christian book I have read. The subtitle of the book alone drew me in and proved to be exactly what it was all about. On the cover, it reads,” A woman’s battle plan for serious, specific, and strategic prayer.”
One of the best ways that I know to grow your faith is through prayer. Through prayer, you communicate with God and share your thoughts, needs, wants, and heart with God. While allowing God to share His thoughts and heart with you.
When you are intentional about communicating with God your faith grows as well. Your dependence, focus, and obedience to God and His Word also grow.
To pray effectively you need both intentionality and often a strategy, and this book is all about giving you strategies.
In her book Fervent, Priscilla Shirer gives 7 specific strategies to pray against things that we face. One of my favorite strategies is #2 about your focus. In a world filled with so much information and everyone wanting their voices heard it is easy to lose focus. So if you are anything like me and find yourself easily distracted, you should get this Christian book for just that chapter alone.
However, you will also find that you will be blessed, challenged, and stretched by the other chapters as well.
2) Power of a Praying Wife by Stormie Omartian
One thing that I wholeheartedly believe and I try to share with every wife and wife-to-be I know, especially my coaching clients, is that a praying wife is a powerful wife. I have heard of this book from countless other wives. I finally committed to reading this book as a part of my wife goals for 2022 and I am so glad that I did.
As a wife, one of the best things we can do for our husbands and a way to truly love them well is to pray for them. In her book ‘The Power of a Praying Wife’ Stormie Omartain gives us 31 things we can pray about for our husbands. While also giving examples of prayers to pray.
Once again I cannot say enough about how much prayer helps you to grow your faith. I am amazed at how it helps grow and strengthen your marriage as well. The prayers you pray for your husband can also help to grow his faith. A win-win!
One thing that I found helpful going through this book was that it helped me to be consistent with praying for my husband, reading one chapter a day over the course of a month with 31 days.
I read it in January. Since the chapters are only 4-6 pages long, every night I was able to pray for my husband for 31 days straight.
While doing so I also found that God would bring to mind other specific ways I could be praying. Not just for my husband, but for myself as a wife and our marriage. This book helped to grow my faith by showing me that praying for my husband was drawing me closer to God. So if you want to take your prayer life and your faith to the next level, make sure to grab a copy of this Christian book.
3) Without Rival by Lisa Bevere
This is a book that I actually read years ago with a small group of other moms and it still remains such a powerful book.
It is one of those books that by the subtitle you get a glimpse at what the book is really about and it boldly delivers. On the cover, it reads,” Embrace your identity and purpose in an age of confusion and comparison.”
Staying rooted in our identity as God’s children is not easy in the world today, so Christian books that directly speak to that are such a treasure.
One of the things I loved about this book is that it can be easily shared with a group. It has discussion questions at the end of each chapter. Making it a great book for you and a couple of your friends read together as you grow your faith together.
4) The Help Club for Moms by Deb Weakly
As much as I love books that allow you to truly dive deep. Whether that is into prayer, God’s limitless provision, or our identity in Christ. I also love books that can give me the practical inspiration and help I may need for that day. When I was given a copy of ‘The Help Club for Moms’, I knew I found a book that would do just that.
Two of the things I love most about this book are that it is clearly divided into different parts based on what areas or things you are looking for inspiration or help with. For example, part 1 is focused on ‘The wise woman cultivates her spirit’ and each small chapter, about 3 pages, speaks directly to that.
A great book for us busy moms who are looking to grow in their faith. While also being encouraged in bite-sized and practical ways. So if that is you, make sure to grab your copy of this book today.
As women, wives, and moms there is so much on our plates and for us to do. At times causing us to get so focused on getting things done that we lose focus on our other things like our relationship with God. So having some Christian books like these on hand is a great way for you to not just get back on track, but to be better when we put the book down.
I’d love to know if you have read any of these or would add any other Christian books to the list in the comments below!
